"I have this pocket watch, and I spin the hands around and around just to pretend I have control..."
So here are some more rips of high quality acoustic lives. You have probably heard/seen them on youtube, because that's where I ripped them from, but I wanted to be able to listen to them on my iPhone and with all the extra silence and/or unrelated talking trimmed out.
I find myself coming back to the acoustics/lives because well, not only is it sort of more interesting to hear the inflections of unpolished voices and whatever improvised flourishes that get played.... but also, honestly, I just love hearing Ryan's voice -- especially when he and Brendon alternate lines because the contrast is really emphasized. And other than on one or two songs (I'm thinking It's Almost Halloween and one or two on Pretty. Odd., most of which I don't really listen to), that doesn't actually happen. I do have audio rips of the two lives (Denver and Chicago) and those are great, but somehow not enough.
(Hmm, I realize that might have been misleading... unfortunately these acoustic rips don't actually have much of Ryan singing voice on them...)
I do absolutely die over the one (is it in Chicago?) where Ryan talks to the crowd and tells them to alternate snapping during the verses and jazz hands during the chorus. RYAN ROSS, I LOVE YOUR SILLY VOICE SO FUCKING MUCH. This is what I really regret about not having seen them live before the split. DAMN YOU RYAN ROSS. laskjflasjflasjdf;lasjf;lasjfl
Somehow this became my RYRO ILU post, so I will just put this here:

X103.9 HQ acoustics (2011)2008 acoustics
- I Write Sins (FM102.1)
- That Green Gentleman (FM102.1)
- Northern Downpour (X96)
- That Green Gentleman (106.1) -- this one isn't as great quality but you get the bonus of hearing Brendon sing everybody gets there / everybody gets... off on Ryan Ross ^_~
And then there's the song that somehow tipped me over into this fandom, where Ryan SINGS LEAD VOCAL, and Brendon sounds RIDICULOUSLY HAPPY singing the chorus, and most importantly where WEREWOLF!SPENCER DANCES AND FALLS OVER <3 ---> It's Almost Halloween (not acoustic).

I'm hoping both stories are good. *crosses fingers* Let me know if you dig 'em, yeah?
TBH, I'm neither here nor there with P!atD's (or any of its satellite bands)'s music, BUT I'll always have a huge soft spot for fic about them. So it happened that the first fics I read in Bandom featured P!atD. They were my gateway into Bandom so, I usually keep an eye out for loooooong fic about them.
Recognize Myself (http://bandombigbang.livejournal.com/119082.html) (FtM!Jon/Ryan), 21k words
The summary:
Jon Walker came out as transgender when he was thirteen years old, and has spent every day of his life since then building walls and perfecting his sense of denial and doing everything in his power to forget he was every anyone but Jon. Over a decade, he's gotten pretty good at it.
Unfortunately, denial can only go so far, and when Jon ends up in a situation he can't get through with his usual coping mechanisms, he starts pushing not to forget who he was, but accept who he is.
and
Asymmetrical (http://pinkichan.livejournal.com/39894.html) (Jon/Ryan, Brendon/Spencer/Dallon).
The summary: When The Young Veins get in an accident on tour Ryan Ross' life is turned upside down. He loses his arm rendering him unable to make music. Ryan has to learn to live again, without music. Ryan strives to find a purpose in his new life, to find a way to keep going, with people he never thought would be there for him when the worst happened.

Slippery Slope... Now with MORE recs! :D!
Anyhoo, here are some fics that I have read:
* The choke 'verse (http://archiveofourown.org/series/3611) by Lalejandra. Brendon/Spencer is the main pairing, about 27k words total spread out into 5 fics. The boys try to get their D/s relationship going in the "real world" (non AU slave 'verse OR BDSM 'verse.)
* Here at the Right Time (http://sunsetmog-fics.livejournal.com/47183.html) by Sunsetmog. Brendon/Spencer, 52k words. Kinkfic in which Brendon and Spencer stumble their way into D/s.
* Underground Earthquakes (http://stele3.insanejournal.com/180100.html) and The Second Circle (http://stele3.insanejournal.com/224035.html) by Stele3. 27.5k for the first fic, 110k for the second one. Ryan/Spencer.
Summary for first fic: Panic at the Disco AU, in which there is no band - just Spencer and Ryan, ages 15 and 16. It's a long, hot summer, the kind that young boys dream about; but this one has some changes in store, and Spencer struggles to navigate the shifting terrain. Warnings: Underaged sex; underaged drinking; consensual BDSM; mentions of child abuse; statutory rape; spoilers for the movie Run, Lola, Run; invertebrate abuse.
Summary for second fic: takes place 5 years after the events of Undergroud Earthquakes fic.. Warnings:GUYS, THIS IS DARK. All kinds of potentially triggery stuff happens that might upset you. However, the more detailed set of warnings includes spoilers; therefore, I'm just going to say that if you do feel comfortable with dark material then read on and enjoy. If you don't , then I strongly suggest you highlight the section below to protect yourselves. There are more detailed and spoiler-heavy warnings at the main post.
(These were the first Bandom fic I EVER read. I kinda read it because someone had done this beautiful pimping of it. (http://marina.dreamwidth.org/979066.html) In part, I think I just wanted to read something different, you know? IIRC, I was slowly getting frustrated because people kept reccing me OMG! YOU TOTALLY HAVE TO READ THIS FIC! (White Collar, SPN, BBC Sherlock, Glee, etc.) and I kept either eyerolling and/or not connecting with the stories.
In the case of these two stories, I didn't even know what the guys looked like, much less understood what Bandom actually was---somehow I kinda really paid attention to Bandom as a fandom (even though plenty of people I knew got into it?) Anyhoo, I think you might like this. \o?)
And, finally, because I'm an MCR fangirl to ends of the universe, I have to rec you Mistresscurvy's Gerard Way, Porn Star (http://archiveofourown.org/works/144740) (FrankGerard, 22k words) FTR, I don't like Pornstar AUs. This one is a verrrrrry special one. I don't even know how many times I've read it.
Nowadays, 90% of what I read is MCR with the remaining 10 being mostly P!atD. If you're ever curious about more MCR fics, I can totally sling a few more recs your way.

But if you only listen to one song, listen to It's Almost Halloween. I dunno, I find it insanely fun to listen to, and even though it's very Beatles-esque (and I'm not their biggest fan), it's still catchy and great. =D

Ugh, I love Ryan's voice so much. And I love when you listen through Panic's stuff, and you can hear how much he improves live. I love that it's not perfect or traditional or whatever. it's just so plaintive and kind of cool and I want to hear it SO MUCH MORE.
And, man, yeah, my Panic show was SO AMAZING AND PERFECT AND EVERYTHING WONDERFUL. I had the best time, but it was always a bit sad wishing I could have seen them before. I had some ~feelings during Camisado. Just, idk, I felt like Ryan should be there. SAD.

You know what would be my favorite thing ever? If there were any videos, or detailed recountings, of the times when Ryan tried to explain/show Bden how to sing the songs from Fever. I just, would really like to know the kinds of things he said, about the feelings behind the lyrics, whether he said things like, no, this should sound sexier/more painful/etc or just more SPECIFICS. I JUST WANT TO KNOW, RYRO. SHHH, JUST TELL ME.
