This was posted by a friend on facebook, and I thought it was relevant to... well, pretty much everyone, in some way or another, on my flist.

If anyone has more information on this topic, please feel free to enlighten me further.

Otherwise, please spread the word.

[UPDATE: I have not had the chance yet to read through this, but I've been informed that the article above is based on a proposal from 2006, and that more (up-to-date) information on this topic is compiled here:

Hey,
I'm really glad to hear Liz is doing ok! I had heard the ACL could be a long rehab period, but that's great she was home the same day, and the doctor was willing to work for her schedule. Definitely great news.
As for the Orphaned Art works, I actually just read a ton of stuff about this yesterday. Apparently this guy is running off older information. The Orphaned Works act was killed in committee in 2006, and there's no reason to believe another one was coming.
http://maradydd.livejournal.com/374886.html This lj aggregates most of the important reading on the issue. I found it to be pretty engrossing reading honestly, and most of the links are also pretty interesting reading too.

Man, that is a hell of a long rehab period. It seems hard to believe such a major injury could be missed by a doctor. Man, good think she got a second opinion!

It looks like this orphaned works mess isn't quite over yet. The Illustrator's Partnership just responded to the blog I linked above. Devoting an entire newsletter just to respond to a blog sounds like desperation to me, and kind of lends credence to her claims that they're stirring this pot to increase membership dues. Either way, here's their response http://www.lostpencil.com/wordpress/?p=225

One of my friends who is an artist posted about that. She gave a link to this:

I haven't read either link, but I figured I'd pass it along anyway.

Oops, I see someone beat me to it. ^_~

I would have been faster, but I only just got home from work. ^_~
