10 years later....

So I think it was something like 10 years ago when I saw for the first time Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake on Bravo on TV. It was wonderful and, for someone who is only a casual fan of ballet -- just so much more powerful than anything I'd seen before.

Well, the company is touring and coming through NYC for a month-long engagement and so I've got some cheap tickets to go see it live this time! Come join us!

Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake
NY City Center (56th b/n 6th & 7th)

Tickets to 11/4 performance

Liz and I have tickets in Rear Mezzanine Center, Row R, Seats 114-116. Cheap seats ($25) 'cause I'm still broke!

Isn't that version of Swan Lake beautiful? If I were near NY, I would TOTALLY be there for this performance! Until then, I'll just have to be jealous.

This is one of my favorite ballets. Back when I was still dancing, this was one of the ones that I wished would come to our city.

Ballet fic? Do you have linkies?

Seriously, if you can see this dance, GO SEE IT. GO GO GO. YOU HAVE NO IDEA, THIS WILL BE SO COOL FOR YOU.

This Swan Lake is one of the masterworks of recent dance. I've pieced together a version on youtube of various performers and assorted orchestras, but the live version will be incredible. Go watch it. Even if you HATE ballet, this one will be worth the $20-$40 of the third balcony ticket. I guarantee it.

Cool! I have tickets for Halloween evening. I've never seen it before, but all the money they're pouring into advertising and media good word has definitely worked on me.

Heh. You most likely have awesome Halloween plans on tap. Me? Just a show. I feel like such a fuddy-duddy.
