day 12 - a song from a band you hate
YES, I HATE ABBA. That doesn't mean I don't sing along with some of their songs, mostly due to overexposure (please, no more Dancing Queen). I reluctantly semi-like their Take a Chance on Me, but that's because I heard the Erasure version first, which I love (yes, I am a child of the 80s).
Fave line: you don't wanna hurt me, baby don't worry, i ain't gonna let you
Dear god, seeing the video for the original version made me like it even less -- what is with the arm flapping?
LOL, Erasure's parody video is slightly hilarious. Ahahahah, oh yeah, I forgot how awesome that reggae interlude is.
List of all days.

This song was played at many New Year's Eve parties I'd go to at this bar my dad worked at - I was around 16-18 or so. It just reminds me of that for some reason.
(You're probably wondering how in hell I was able to get into a bar at that age. Well, in Wisconsin you can drink as a minor in a bar/restaurant, as long as a parent is present. Let's just say I definitely took advantage of that! )

That's interesting about Wisconsin's drinking-as-a-minor laws -- are those still in effect, or have they changed? In NYC you can certainly get into a bar/restaurant with a parent... though I don't know if they'd necessarily deliberately serve the minor alcohol (depends on the place).

But yeah...I'd sit down at the bar, and I could order whatever I wanted without any fear of repercussions from drinking as a minor. I think my dad would've preferred me to do that, instead of at a underage house party, or something like that. Besides, I think drinking underage at a bar was much more fun than a house party. xD
I think the best was June '03 after I turned 20, a month before I moved to NC. I went to this 3-day country music festival, and I basically had one of those huge 32 oz. jugs of hard lemonade attached to my hand, refilled whenever I wanted. Oh, those were the days.

Especially the 3-day music festival. (Country, not so much, but you know, YAY MUSIC FESTIVAL!) \o/
Also, extremely appropriate icon! LOLZ!
