okay, yes, I'm sold on dean and castiel now. (Season 5) EPISODE 18 IS NNNNNGGGGHHHHH. PLEASE GIVE ME FIC RECOMMENDATIONS NOW!!!!

ETA: I must be among a tiny minority who basically was not a big fan of the whole heaven/hell showdown; hated and raged over most of season 4; and although I liked Castiel, I was mostly uninterested and completely indifferent toward the whole Dean/Castiel thing. Until a little over halfway through season 5. When they did something that just clicked for me. So, yeah.

But Dean/Metallicar is still OTP, okay.

ETA 2: My last post about Supernatural 5x03 was at the end of September 2009. I'm pretty sure I watched up to 5x08 at some point, but I stopped watching from then until today. That's about a 7 month hiatus. I'm really glad I did my usual wait 'til the season is over to watch, though.

Hahaha, actually I meant episode 18 of season 5. LOL, I know I'm super late to join the bandwagon on that particular ship, but although I liked Castiel, I was pretty much indifferent toward the idea of Dean/Castiel pretty much until maybe a few eps before 5x18. I was really not a fan of season 4, or the heaven/hell showdown at all.

But yes! Please send me your Dean/Cas fic!!! I think once I stopped being angry at the plot (aka, there was finally an end in sight?)... it clicked for me?

What happened in ep 18 to change your mind? Is that the one where Dean tells Cas that when people look at him like that he tends to get lucky, after already having told Cas to blow him? Because that I get. ;P

Oh yeah, I really loved that. But actually it was 5x10 ("Abandon All Hope") that changed my mind about Dean/Cas. When Cas is following Crowley and says to Dean over the phone "...as we speak the deal is... going... down..." and on the other end, Dean looks at his phone and says "Okay, Huggy Bear..."

For some reason that just got me. I had to stop and rewind it and play it over a couple of times just because I was cracking up so much. I'm not sure why it wasn't til then that the dynamic of their relationship crossed (my particular) line from buddies into sexual. Like, it's not like I couldn't see why people shipped them before that, it just... didn't make sense (for me)? But then after that there were just so many moments that I could really see the connection between them. <3

I always make it difficult for myself, it seems -- I'll post again and see if anyone on my flist knows of anyone writing Dean/Cas from season 5, as that would be my preference, though I'm definitely still willing to read season 4 Dean/Cas if it's got good dynamic.

LOL I like Crowley a lot too! Oddly enough, he has a STRONG physical resemblance to a guy that works in my office so now I'm going to end up giggling about it every time I see this guy.

ALSO! JULIAN RICHINGS! IN THAT ROLE! SO. FREAKING. PERFECT! I <3 Julian Richings so much! I mean, I know it was like a whole 5 minutes of screen time, but he was just so perfect in those 5 minutes. And maybe we'll see him again! IT WOULD BE SO AWESOME! I'm a huge fan of literary works which use personification of death as a character. It's one of my favorite favorite favorite things ever in the whole world and has been pretty much since I was 5.

Also. *points at self* HUUUUUUUGE ANGST-WHORE RIGHT HERE.
