I should watch more series this way.

So last night I randomly decided to watch the rest of Saiyuki. Episodes 27 through 50 in a 7-hour marathon from 6pm til 1am. It was really, really good. There was actually a bit more along the lines of plot in this second half of the series. Even though I didn't think I would, I ended up liking Homura and his lackies (Shien and what's his name? The Tasuki look-alike) a lot. Although I thought the ending was a bit of a... let down? Disappointment? Stupid? This is definitely a case where I'm watching more for the characters than for the plot.

But I really love seeing them in their past lives as gods. Even though their personalities are pretty much the same, they aren't exactly the same. I would imagine it comes from the different experiences they've had. I really love Kenren and Tenpou. <333! But I think I definitely prefer Sanzou over Konzen. He's a lot more badass (and with more angst!) as Sanzou than as Konzen (so far, at least). Besides, what is with the lavender robes?!

And you know, despite the fact that I like yaoi, I'm not determined to see it everywhere. I really, really tried to not look for it in the canon. You know, to just have it be a fandom thing. But no, it's SO in there. It's read in between the lines, but you'd have to be in total denial NOT to see it, the way they shove it in your face. I have to say, though, that it's more fun to have it be between the lines than to have it totally "on camera". There's so much more to speculate about that way. Ah, the fanfic writer's dream.

Angelica has to lend me Saiyuki RELOAD soon. Until then I might just try to find scanlations of the manga, as I've heard the manga is MUCH better. I think.

Also, can I just say? I absolutely adore Seki Toshihiko. <333! Srsly. It makes me want to go finish watching Senku Tenki Shurato.

Don't forget to watch Gunlock, too. ^_____^ I should really start Saiyuki again sometime. I've seen about the first half, several times.

I really love Kenren and Tenpou.

That's Gojyo and Hakkai, right? I've heard they're even more married in the past than the present.

I absolutely adore Seki Toshihiko.

What's not to love about him??? ^_~ He's got one of the best voices I've ever heard. I wish he was the Seki that's coming to Otakon. *sigh*

I have no idea which is first, Gunlock or Reload. I don't know that I'll ever make it that far through the Saiyuki universe. ^_____^

I'm so glad I said something about Seki. I figured everyone knew. I'm so happy it's made you happy! I know what you mean about wasting a lot of your day waiting in line. I did that for Scott McNeil.

It was announced a while ago. I would have said something in my LJ, but I figured everyone knew about it. Sorry!

Jigoku Shoujo is a cool series. It starts out as 'the revenge of the week', but it gets better when it starts doing the interconnected episodes. I liked the sequel series, Jigoku Shoujo Futakomri, too.

If you want a copy of both/either, let me know!

I'd like to see the female seiyuu that's going to be at Otakon. She voiced Enma Ai in Jigoku Shoujo! ♥
